SER is a firm with extensive experience in the preparation of environmental review documents. SER staff have experience with Environmental Assessment Worksheets (EAWs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) that spans nearly 20 years.
Completing an EAW requires knowledge of the concerns of the reviewing agency. Our experience has taught us the intricacies of the process. Our thorough approach to EAW investigation and writing minimizes project complications and expensive project delays. Our knowledge of the EAW process guarantees that our projects are done well for our clients the first time.
SER works well in concert with other consultants. Many EAW projects involve and require the input of various agents, including planners, engineers, and surveyors. We have the experience to effectively coordinate the involvement of others.
This combination of knowledge and experience has resulted in the successful completion of high profile projects such as the Albertville Factory Outlet Center, HealthEast Medical Facility in Woodbury, MN, and the Shattuck Golf Course Community in Faribault, MN. Each of these projects had one or more issues associated with the proposal, such as the presence of wetlands, on-site waste treatment, development in rural areas, and presence of rare, threatened, or endangered species.
In each case, where other firms might have been challenged by the issues, SER brought the project to a successful conclusion. Other firms may claim to be successful, but SER has proven itself to be successful in delivering a quality document that meets the requirements of the Responsible Government Units, resulting in an approved project for the proposer.
We have worked on the preparation of many EAWs relevant to housing development. One example is for a site located in the City of Minnetrista, MN. This project involved constructing a major housing subdivision, along with channel dredging in a wetland area adjoining Lake Minnetonka. The EAW successfully resolved a major concern regarding the channel dredging, boat docks, and subdivision development.
SER is also familiar with golf course design and development. We have prepared EAWs related to golf courses for such groups as Carver County. In their case, the project involved a proposed golf course near the City of Waconia, MN. We have successfully completed several delineations and permit applications for the development of new courses and for the expansion of existing courses.
