National Wetland Delineation Technology Conferences
To see the agenda for any of the three conferences, please click on the respective links in the paragraphs below. The first conference, held in 1994, was more local and focused on the Wetland Conservation Act permanent rules. The second and third conferences, held in 1995 and 1996 respectively, were the First and Second Annual Wetland Delineation Technology Conferences (AWDTC). The First AWDTC focused on the past, present, and future of wetland delineation technology. The Second AWDTC focused on wetland characteristics and boundaries.
These three conferences were organized and sponsored by SER. SER staff coordinated the event, from putting
together resource packets to reserving meeting locations. Speakers from universities, state and federal
agencies, non-profit organizations, and consulting firms as far as Alaska and Louisiana were contacted,
and accommodations were arranged for them. Attendees from around the nation were assembled and kept
informed of conference events. SER staff gave presentations on topics such as wetland quality and
performed the opening and closing remarks.
