GPS Innovations (GPSI) was founded in 1997 by Franklin J. Svoboda. Its initial purpose was to act as the Midwest representative of Juniper Systems GPS systems and to provide a unique combination of GPS and GIS services and solutions to our clients. In March 2000, GPS Innovations combined resources with Digit Imagery and Geographical Information Technology, Inc. (DIGIT), founded by Charles Wivell in 1996. GPSI was organized as a Minnesota Corporation in October 2000. As a result, in addition to our original services, we now also provide digital aerial image data services combined with digital image archiving, data distribution, image analysis, and training.
GPSI is headquartered in the Twin Cities metro area of Minnesota. We also have a satellite office
in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Our customer base is national in scope and consists of agricultural business
owners and related service industries, public natural resources managing agencies, private conservation
organizations, natural resource extraction industries, utility companies, railroads, cities, and
federal, state, and local transportation agencies.
